My family does a thing where one family member gets assigned a Sunday to make dessert. Its not necessarily a competition but we are naturally highly competitive and try to out-do the each others' desserts. Last night was my Sunday to provide the sweets. So I pulled up my sleeves, put on an apron, and gathered all the food-making energy I could muster.

The end result was crème brûlée.
